We're building the biggest grassroots movement in Australia's history to stop Adani's coal mine.
Here's 5 ways you can take action to stop Adani.
Adani needs insurance to build their climate-wrecking coal project. They simply can’t progress critical work without it. Right now, insurance broker Marsh is shopping around the globe to find a company willing to insure this risky, destructive project.
Our movement has already pushed 65+ major companies to abandon Adani, including 16 insurance companies, the likes of Allianz, QBE, and Suncorp, just to name a few. Now it’s Marsh’s turn!
On 16-20th March, groups across the country will be hosting a Week of Action to ramp up the pressure on Marsh and call on them to cut their ties with Adani!
With over 20 offices across the nation (and even more overseas) there are plenty of opportunities to join in! Here's the steps for how you can organise an action at your local Marsh office:
Adani can’t build their mine by themselves. They need 1. Construction companies to help build the coal mine and rail. 2. Insurance companies to insure Adani’s project. And 3. Haulage companies to transport the coal from the mine to port. Over 60 companies have already refused to work with Adani. Let’s keep going to make sure no one will help Adani fuel the climate crisis!
Adani’s mine will destroy the ancestral lands and waters of the Wangan and Jagalingou people. The Wangan and Jagalingou Family Council have never give their free, prior and informed consent to Adani’s mine and have said No to Adani 5 times. In a shocking new low, Adani have bankrupted W&J senior spokesperson Adrian Burragubba. Despite this disgusting corporate bullying, W&J are continuing their fight to protect their country from Adani. Will you stand with them?
Adani need somewhere to burn their coal. Right now Adani plan to burn it in their own coal-burning power stations in India. These polluting coal stations are worsening air pollution, dispossessing local villagers of their land, and draining sacred water sources. Local residents are fighting back, but taking on a powerful, multi-billionaire corporation is tough and dangerous. So we need to make sure we have their back.
Adani have started smashing down trees that are home to critically endangered species to build their monster coal mine. That means we need to escalate peaceful protest to stop Adani. Everyday Australians are engaging in brave acts of peaceful civil disobedience to stop Adani turbocharging the climate crisis.
