Thanks to community pressure there are no known major insurance contracts for any Galilee coal mine with over 35 global insurers saying no and major global insurers letting Adani’s insurance lapse. Major coal insurance players Marsh and Lloyd’s of London released their first ever climate policies in response to pressure from the StopAdani grassroots movement. These policies are making it harder than ever for companies like Adani to secure insurance for dangerous new fossil fuel projects.

Adani is now left scraping the bottom of the insurance barrel, creating a major financial risk for any Galilee project.
