NGV: Drop major Adani investor HSBC

Adani investor HSBC is a major sponsor of the National Gallery of Victoria’s (NGV) latest blockbuster exhibition – French Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts.

As one of Adani's biggest investors, HSBC is enabling Adani to dig the biggest coal mine in Australia's history.

The Adani mine will destroy the ancestral lands and waters of the Wangan & Jagalingou people, who have never given their free, prior, and informed consent to Adani’s coal mine and have waged a long battle against Adani in the courts.

As the most visited Art Gallery in Australia and among the 20 most visited globally, the NGV has a responsibility to rule out involvement with companies that enable the destruction of Aboriginal Country and ecocide

The NGV cannot claim to champion First Nations arts and culture while accepting funding from a bank that is supporting Adani's Carmichael coal mine.

Tell the NGV to drop future sponsorship with HSBC, unless HSBC pulls its money from Adani.
