Sound Yoga to Stop Adani - Mornington, VIC
Come and enjoy an afternoon of Sound Yoga (kirtan) in aid of raising funds for the Wangan and Jagalingou people. These people are the Traditional Owners of the land in Queensland’s Galilee Basin, where Adani is proposing to build the Carmichael mine. They are presently battling Adani in the courts to stop the mine from going ahead. For more information visit: http://wanganjagalingou.com.au/.
Kirtan is a participatory music experience that involves a call and response chant of traditional Indian mantras (don’t you love the irony given Adani is Indian!). It is a beautiful mysterious tradition that leaves participants uplifted and connected to their hearts.
A family friendly event, make sure your kids bring their favourite instrument to play along with!
Chanting will be followed by refreshments.
Cost: $15 cash donation per adult, children are free.
