Queensland Election Debrief

In just a few short weeks, our movement came together to make #StopAdani the defining issue of the Queensland election.

The final count is yet to come, but the LNP have next to no chance of taking power and executing their wish to hand over $1b to Adani.

This is an incredible win for our movement and clears the way for the new Queensland Government to veto the NAIF loan. From here we will hold Queensland Labor to account to their commitment to veto the loan, and push them further to oppose the Adani mine outright.

Hundreds of us joined calling parties alongside GetUp and others, talking to Queensland voters, knocking on doors, getting in front of politicians and volunteering on election day to help make this happen.

The world’s biggest investors are funding Adani’s coal. Investors like BlackRock, State Bank of India, JP Morgan, HSBC and MUFG. Together, we will stop the money and push them to divest from Adani.
