Mini Galilee Basin Sandpit Play
Keep The Scenic Rim Scenic will be providing a 'mini-Galilee Basin coal mine” at this years Boonah Show for the kids to play in and for parents to learn more about the proposed Adani mine. This is a true 'learning through play' environment, where the serious issue of inappropriate coal mining is highlighted in the sandpit. Kids will leave small handprints and footprints in the sand, unlike the enormous environmental footprint that Adani plans to leave with their development. Kids are able to blissfully play knowing that the adults have got their future protected … or is it? Are we doing as much as we can to protect the earth they will inherit? The sandpit will highlight the free and unlimited water the Qld State Govt has promised to Adani for the next 60 years, as well as the $1 billion coming from Federal Funds for a railway link. Attention will also be given to the Commonwealth Bank – disappointingly, they are the only one of Australia’s big four banks still considering to fund Adani.
