I was raised in a tiny rural community totally immersed in agriculture and basically trusting of our political masters. When it finally dawned on me that our governments were actively supporting the Adani mine, despite the clear and current indications of climate change - bleachings of the GBR, algal blooms in the Murray, bushfires, prolonged drought, cyclones & bushfires -  I was outraged.

If I’d needed anymore motivation, the imminent arrival of my first grandchild, a little girl, provided it.

So #StopAdani Albury-Wodonga was launched.  Initially, the challenge was to overcome fears of failure and rejection by this relatively conservative regional community. Two years on, we are much braver and are celebrating changing many hearts and minds.
