Friday 7th April is Westpac’s 200th birthday.

You’d think that with 200 years under their belt the bank might have the wisdom to see that climate change impacts are happening here and now in Australia and that investing in the world’s biggest new coal mine is literally the worst ‘present’ ever…worse even than being given a itchy woollen jumper on a 40 degree Christmas day. 

So what’s our birthday wish for Westpac? It’s simple, say NO to Adani’s mega coal mine!  

Join us at the Civic Westpac branch over your lunch break to make this a birthday to remember. We’ll queue up and ask Westpac to reflect on another year of giving billions to fossil fuels, and whether they plan to make amends in their 201st year. There will be a quick briefing beside the merry-go-around from 12:30 before we start the action.
