The Scenic Rim community is no stranger to opposing inappropriate mining, which is exactly what the Adani coal mine is. In 2012 the Scenic Rim community was successful in preventing coal seam gas mining and a gas pipeline in our region. We continue to value our local farming and agricultural industries and the existence of the largest land-based World Heritage-listed National Park area in the state.  The Scenic Rim is a strong farming community, and our farmers know first-hand the value and cost of water. So it is outrageous that the Qld State Government has approved an Indian mining company to develop the Adani coal mine and give them 60 years of unlimited free water. We want to make sure Westpac puts the water to better use, and washes its' hands of funding the Adani project.
