Guarding the Galilee: Film Screening and Community Discussion
The Higgins Climate Action Group invites you to a community screening and discussion of Guarding the Galilee.
Whether or not you have heard Queensland politicians spruiking the benefits of Adani’s Carmichael coal mine, come along to hear what actual Queenslanders (and Indians) have to say about it, and what effects this mine will have on ALL Australians, our Great Barrier Reef and our planet.
After that, we would like to hear what you all have to say, and want to do.
Doors open at 6:45 for a 7:00pm start. A gold coin donation is requested to cover hiring costs.
Who are we? The Higgins Climate Action Group are local volunteers dedicated to raising community awareness about the adverse effects that Adani's Carmichael coal mine will have if it's allowed to proceed. We formed about six months ago, and operate under the guidance of the Australian Conservation Foundation. In that time we have collected petitions, performed surveys, staged community actions outside Kelly O’Dwyer’s office, and organised several community discussions such as this one. We would welcome more members!
Carnegie Library is located at 7 Shepparson Ave, Carnegie (Melway 68 J4). If you are bringing your car, there should be plenty of room in the shopping centre car park. It is also very close to Carnegie train station.
This is an independently run event hosted by a member of your community. When you RSVP, ACF will pass on your contact details to the host for the purpose of running the event.
