Grannies occupy Queensland Labour HQ to block Adani mine

Associated Australian Press reported on an unusual group of protesters who vowed to "Stand up to Adani and take direct action" to stop the Adani mine and push Queensland Labour to have their actions live up to their words on climate change.

About 10 people from The Grandparents for the Galilee group marched with pillows and air beds into the South Brisbane building on Monday afternoon.
They made themselves at home in the first-floor foyer and vowed to stay there until they are arrested or Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk signs a letter to stop the Northern Australia Infrastructure Fund from issuing a $1 billion loan to the Carmichael mine planned for Queensland's Galilee Basin.
Spokeswoman Miree Le Roy said more than 2000 grandparents had signed up to the group "to stand up to Adani to take direct action".
