Film screening: Guarding the Galilee (family-friendly)

Narrated and presented by Michael Caton, this short 2016 film features reef operators, dive instructors, environmentalists and many more concerned about the impacts of the Adani Carmichael mine.

If it goes ahead, it would be the biggest coal mine in Australia's history and one of the most significant contributor to climate change in future years.

The Australian Marine Conservation Society lists the mine as the second most significant threat (after climate change itself) to the Great Barrier Reef.

The film screening will be followed by a community discussion about ways we can get involved to help stop the mine from being built.

Gold coin donation optional but appreciated to cover the cost of the venue.
