Climate Strike Info Night - Ashgrove

Come to this Climate Strike Night to hear how you can step up your action on climate change and supersize the September 20 #ClimateStrike in Brisbane.

Australia is already on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Prolonged droughts are crippling farming communities. Flash flooding is creating chaos in cities. Catastrophic bushfires and severe cyclones threaten people’s homes. Heatwaves swept the nation last summer.

Our Government should be helping to move our economy and society beyond fossil fuels to 100% clean energy for all, but instead they are helping billionaire companies open the floodgates to new coal, oil and gas projects.

Which is why, on September 20, three days before world leaders meet in New York for the UN Emergency Climate Summit, everyone is invited to join the biggest ever global #ClimateStrike, led by school strikers. We’ll strike to call for the fair and just transition of our economy and society away from damaging fossil fuels towards clean, safe renewable energy for all.

WHEN: 4:15pm - 6:00pm Sunday, September 8th.
WHERE:
The Newmarket Bowls Club

This Strike Night is your chance to get involved with the #ClimateStrike and take action in your community to make September 20 an absolutely massive moment for climate action. We’ll be making practical plans to get people from all different parts of society stepping up and joining the strike.

On 15th March, 1.6 million of us went on strike around the world. On September 20, we’re going to take our movement to the next level.

We need you with us to make this happen. Come along to the Strike Night and find out how you can help.
