#StopAdani - Shellharbour CommBank - Rule Adani Out
Waves of relentless community pressure led to a win with Westpac - we ensured that Westpac's climate policy has ruled out funding for Adani for good. There is no reason why CommBank’s new policy can’t do the same. CommBank's board meets on 13th June to review their climate change policy -- that’s why we need your help to intensify the pressure and help them make the right decision. This is our best window of opportunity to win on CommBank and ensure that no bank touches Adani. We're delivering the message throughout the Illawarra on Friday 9th June - join us at Shellharbour CommBank at 10am and continue on to the many other local Branches to deliver the StopAdani message: 10:30am @ Albion Park; 10:40am @ Corrimal; 11:00am @ Dapto; 11:30am @ Warrawong; & finally all together at 12:30pm in Wollongong. Wear your Stop Adani or other Climate Change tee shirt. We'll have some placards, but good to make your own if you like. For more details - If you are coming from the north call Cherry 0408 674 305, if you're coming from the south call Tom 0438 254 679. Enough is enough! It’s time to push CommBank harder than ever before.

Adani can’t build their mine by themselves. They need 1. Construction companies to help build the coal mine and rail. 2. Insurance companies to insure Adani’s project. And 3. Haulage companies to transport the coal from the mine to port. Over 60 companies have already refused to work with Adani. Let’s keep going to make sure no one will help Adani fuel the climate crisis!
Adani’s mine will destroy the ancestral lands and waters of the Wangan and Jagalingou people. The Wangan and Jagalingou Family Council have never give their free, prior and informed consent to Adani’s mine and have said No to Adani 5 times. In a shocking new low, Adani have bankrupted W&J senior spokesperson Adrian Burragubba. Despite this disgusting corporate bullying, W&J are continuing their fight to protect their country from Adani. Will you stand with them?
Adani need somewhere to burn their coal. Right now Adani plan to burn it in their own coal-burning power stations in India. These polluting coal stations are worsening air pollution, dispossessing local villagers of their land, and draining sacred water sources. Local residents are fighting back, but taking on a powerful, multi-billionaire corporation is tough and dangerous. So we need to make sure we have their back.
Adani have started smashing down trees that are home to critically endangered species to build their monster coal mine. That means we need to escalate peaceful protest to stop Adani. Everyday Australians are engaging in brave acts of peaceful civil disobedience to stop Adani turbocharging the climate crisis.
Adani are an incredibly rich and powerful corporation with deep political connections in Australia and India. But they don’t have the support of the vast majority of people who are concerned about climate change and want this mine stopped. Our people-powered movement has already achieved incredible things in the fight to #StopAdani. If we can keep growing, we can stop this disaster for good, and help move Australia beyond coal. But we can’t do it without you.
