Rally to stop Adani's India forest destruction
Environmentalist Bob Brown wants hundreds of anti-Adani campaigners to protest alongside him outside the gates of the Indian embassy in Canberra.
Dr Brown will protest Adani's plans to mine 842 hectares of dense forest for coal in the heavily forested state of Chhattisgarh in central India.
The proposed mining site falls within one of the largest stretches of forest in India, which is home to elephants, sloth bears and leopards, and is marketed to tourists for its waterfalls and wildlife sanctuaries.
Bring placards and banners that say Stop Adani or your own message about the important issues we face Gautam Adani pushing Australia’s governments to open up his massive coal lode in the Galilee basin in this age of climate emergency.
Adani is a company that wants to strip India of sacred dense forests and drain Australia of its precious water. So we are set to take action and we want you to join us.
